The Tilley Hat fits more comfortably than other hats. It’s designed to be worn low on your head and slightly loose. It should be held on by gravity, not by painful pressure on your forehead!
The TWC7 Tilley Outback Hat has a medium-sized brim, and uses a modern waxed cotton technology that can be washed, worn, packed, used and abused. The hatband and binding in traditional British Tan contrasts the rugged olive colour. Over time, the waxed cotton fabric develops a leather-like appearance that gives it a unique 'worn-in' look and feel.
Certified UV Protection:
All Tilley Hats are rated UPF 50+ for “EXCELLENT” UV protection, blocking 97.5% or more UV radiation
Ties on, Floats & Repels Rain:
Most Tilleys come with a tuckaway, adjustable, fore 'n' aft Wind Cord. When it's calm, the Wind Cord stays hidden in the crown. When there's a breeze, place the part with the sliding knots behind your head. A layer of closed-cell foam in the crown, and sometimes in the brim, provides the Tilley's positive buoyancy.
Secret Pocket:
All Tilley Hats have a secret pocket (shhhhh!) in the crown to safely and securely store any important ‘stuff’ such as licenses, room keys, etc etc... you might even find that it's the most convenient place for your iPod, your fishing lures, your secret engagement ring.....
